Hey, I took the ACT in December and got a 32 which blows my 1770 on the SAT from last June way out of the water. However, I'm concerned that when I send SAT II scores in, the 1770 chilling there from the one time I took the SAT will hurt my chances at some schools. I really don't want to take the SAT again unless I have to. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

i’m not sure so i would look into the colleges that you’re interested in, but most of them take your best score, ACT or SAT, so they would basically ignore your 1770 in light of your 32. good job! :)

I think if you just send your subject test scores then your original SAT I score won’t be sent. I don’t think that even has to do with score choice. Why should colleges see your SAT I when you only want to send SAT II’s? I don’t think it would make any sense for collegeboard to do this.

Son sent in ACT scores and SAT II scores to all schools this year. Only one school requested ALL testing which we honored. It was not a problem to send SAT II’s and completely disregard the SAT I for all other schools. Many schools did not request SAT II’s in light of the ACT but as his were all 720+ we sent to all regardless figuring that at worst they would be ignored.

Thanks everybody! I’m glad to hear this because I really didn’t have a good experience with the SAT and now I don’t think I’ll be taking it again.
