SAT Score

Hey guys, just got my SAT back- 800 reading/writing and 710 math. I don’t know how the heck I got that 710, because I got a perfect on my math PSAT and ACT. Oh well. My question is should I retake it? Here’s my situation- I’m applying to a bunch of Ivies and schools like that, however I am also taking the Math II in October. Do you guys think I should retake this SAT as well as try to do well on the Math 2, or study my butt off for the Math II, and get an 800. Basically do you think an 800 on the math II would make up for a bad score on the math portion of the SAT? I mean, I already got 800 on reading/writing so I’m kind of leaning towards just killing the math II to show colleges that that 710 was just a fluke, but what do you guys think? Thanks and sorry for the long paragraph!

If you think you can do much better on the math and have time to prep & take it - maybe go ahead and retake the SAT. But if you got a 36 on ACT math & have a good ACT composite - fine to go with that alone - no need to send SAT also. SAT math level 2 is REQUIRED for some schools and encouraged/recommended by others so it is a good idea to take it & try to get an 800 on SAT Math 2 = 81%ile).

Okay, thank you. It’s just that this year is senior year for me so I’ve got ALL this stuff for college admissions. And a lot of the schools I’m applying to want 2 subject tests, so I just don’t know if I want to deal with another SAT, you know? My main question is just would a perfect score on the math 2(assuming I got one, which I know is a big assumption) make up for a not as good score on the regular SAT math section? I mean the whole point is that they want to know if I’m competent at math. But I’m not an expert, so I don’t know
