Bye-Bye Dartmouth.

Sorry ajayc if you are disapointed on your scores. I have followed all of your other Dartmouth posts, I know how badly you want this. I have no idea about how these admissions people think, but you have unusual EC's, so are you going to apply anyways? How about ACT's? My D only got a 2050 in May on SAT and 33 on Sept. ACT. Good luck to you, you seem like a very driven student wherever you may go.

I really dont know if the National percentile matters but I got like 93 percentile.

At the moment I dont know if I am still applying ED. No I havent taken the ACTs.

I think I need to revise my college list now, get to US then transfer... arrgh. Not a single school will give me money with that ruddy score...

Why don't you just apply ED and see what happens? Am I missing something?

Yes I think I will still go ahead with ED.

ajay... im so sorry to hear about your scores. While I think in general those SAT scores are below average, from what I know of you, your personality and other activities are still strong enough to wow admissions. Good Luck to you.

Pamplemmose: "Below average" is relative. They may be below average for Dartmouth -- maybe that's what you meant -- but they're not below average universally.

I have submitted my ED app today.

I can't understand. I always scored like >2100 on Blue Book tests.... argh never mind.

ajayc....just try a practice ACT test? or is it too late?

If my verbal SAT I score is below Dartmouth's average, should I still apply?

Many international students who attend Dartmouth have lower verbal SAT I scores than their U.S. peers, and some have higher scores. We value the language talent that many international applicants possess, whether they are bilingual or have mastered several languages. Dartmouth does not have any "cut-off" scores. Each application is read thoroughly and carefully even if the applicant has below-average scores. Strong essays, classroom performance, teacher recommendations, and interview evaluations in addition to SAT I, SAT II and TOEFL scores help the Admissions Office determine whether a student has the necessary English skills to attend Dartmouth College.

from the dartmouth website.. i know you must have read it but.. jus in case

Also, remember what "average" means. Some people will be higher and **some will be lower./b So just because you're lower than average doesn't mean you won't be accepted.

Obviously, you want the best scores you can get, but just because you're lower than average doesn't mean you won't be accepted.

I'm glad you're doing ED, Ajay.
