SAT Scores (2300+) and Applications

Recently got back my SAT score, which was 2320. This seemed like an amazing score, except that it was brought down by the otherwise disappointing math score and essay score.

720 Math
800 CR
800 Writing (80 MC, 9! Essay)

I hope to one day apply to a top college in an engineering major...however...this math score is pretty low. Should I retake or just focus on my AP sciences/ SAT Subject tests and use that to make up for this.

Thanks~

I would say definitely retake - math score is incredibly important, unfortunately.

I would definitely say don’t retake- 720 is plenty good. Past a certain point, your score doesn’t really matter. Focus on your ap classes and sat ii’s- those show actual math ability, and colleges know this

Please don’t retake… that 720 is what, one question, two questions? After about a 2300 or so, it really, really doesn’t matter, and with a 2320, you run a higher risk of dropping than you do of increasing yoru score.

Congratulations on your testing success-- now move on and find something else to do with your life.

Try to get a good score on SAT II Math2 instead.

exactly what I was going to say

Are you a Jr.?? If yes you should absolutley take it again.
