<p>The college board has a bunch of intervals i guess you can calll them for each college's sat scores that they want.
Where should you shoot for in that interval, other than the highest?</p>
<p>Higher is always better, particularly for colleges that are test score happy. :D</p>
<p>But, at a minimum, try to get above the mean for everyone else. If you are at the 25th %, you need to be extremely strong in everything else.</p>
<p>On collegeboard, the numbers that are reported are the 75th and 25th percentile. The lower number means that one-fourth of the admitted students were admitted with a score less than that value. You definitely still have a decent shot if you get below it, but naturally it's better to have a high score.</p>
