I am applying early decision to Rice, and I just sent my SAT scores... What will happen? I chose to send them this late because my Subject Test scores just came in and I wanted to send them all at once. Why should it take them weeks to send scores that are on my profile, especially since I am paying them?

I guess that they somehow told you that it takes weeks? That did not happen with us. We entered the school into one of the schools for score report before the score comes out and the day after the score comes out, we checked out our online admission account and it indicated that the school has received the score that came out the night before. I just checked and Rice is an electronic delivery school. So in theory, Rice should be able to receive the score almost immediately after you pay. Maybe Colllege Board just make this kind of general statement in case one of the schools you pay for score report use mail delivery method. Or maybe they just want to induce you to pay the expensive rush delivery? Here’s what I would do, early next week, if Rice does not have a way to check online about your application status, you should call the admission office to see if they have your SAT score. If not, I would start calling College Board about when your school will receive the score.

I thought the very same thing, but I checked, and it said mail delivery takes 4 weeks, with electronic delivery taking “just” 1-2 weeks.

From what I can gather, College Board will collect all the score requests and send out every 2 weeks. So they wait and send out all the score requests once every two weeks. I think Rice would be ok with this. I would call first thing Monday to inform them and make sure that this is ok. If not then you probably will need to rush the score, but somehow I think Rice would be alright with getting the score a week or two later.
