SAT Scores and GPA

Hi, so I'm a current junior considering Stanford next year. What can any of you guys say about my GPA and SAT scores?
SAT:
2210 (750 Math, 750 Critical Reading, 710 Writing); I'm taking it again in 2 weeks.
Haven't taken SAT IIs yet.
GPA (UW, Stanford calibration 10-11):
I have all As now, so it should be 3.8 by the end of the year
GPA Weighted (10-11):
Should be 4.6 by the end of the year.
I'll be taking nearly all APs next year as well.
I'm an African American male from California. Chances, please?

Very good chance, that last line helps you. Also, dont retake SAT (1500 and URM= very ****ing good) in 2 weeks take the SAT IIs. Lack of SAT II's will get ANYONE denied at Stanford, and Stanford doesnt care about ECs for urms.

thanks...I'm taking the SAT IIs in June, and my retaken SAT I should be about 2300 or higher (i've been studying like CRAZY).

kingmo1990:

Very impressive stats...congratulations. As a parent, here's my two cents...

My son's statistics:

SCEA deferred/RD waitlisted. (He'll attend one of his safety schools)
SAT: 2260 (800 Math, 760 Critical Reading, 700 Writing);
SAT IIs: 800 Math, 750 Physics
GPA UW: 3.9ish, W: 4.3ish
National Merit Scholar Finalist, he'll receive a NM Scholarship from his school
National Hispanic Scholar
AP Scholar w/Distinction, should end up as an AP National Scholar
Took 6 APs as a junior, 5s on all AP exams. Taking another 6 as a senior
Decent ECs:4 year varsity letterman, several club officer positions, a decent bit of volunteer work.
He is an Hispanic male from Texas. I'm not sure how or if this helped his cause.

I'm convinced that essays are a key component in the decision process. I don't believe he took a special effort to convey a sense of himself in them. I'm not certain about Introuble's contention that ECs are not important for URMs. Volunteerism and leadership can't hurt your chances. Grades and SATs will get you past the first round. Strong essays, recommendations and ECs should get you an offer of admission.

All the best in your future endeavors.

thanx jagman...i do have some (in my opinion) good ECs, and will probably have some good recs.
also, another question: do foreign language courses taken in jr. high count towards stanford's 3+ year reccomendation? because i've been taking spanish since 7th grade, and am now finishing my school's spanish program as a junior.

If you finish the highest level of lang offered at your school, 3 years is good enough.
