<p>Hey I'm a junior and Columbia is my dream, so I was just quickly wondering if a 2160 (2190 if you take all my best scores) might be high enough to get me considered or if I really need to work and get much higher.

<p>It’s probably within the middle 50% but it certainly won’t give you an advantage in your application and will most likely be detrimental.</p>

<p>I agree, it’s a bit low, but I don’t think that it’d be “detrimental” as mentioned. Still, I’m in the same boat as you, so I might not know much. Retake for superscore Math+Writing. Writing is actually easy to improve in my opinion if you know how to write with sophisticated language. This I do have experience with, as I’ve gotten an 800 twice on writing. Pick unique examples from lit/history/modern society without being generic or overgeneralizing things. Use more elegant sentence structure and show broad vocab. You should get at least an 11, boosting that 700 nicely. For Math, idk what to say besides know how to do every problem that can… and will… show up. </p>
<p>Can I get anybody’s opinion my my scores? I’m okay with the final result, but CR is bugging me a bit. It’s in mid-50, andI don’t really want to retake it unless it really hurts my chances.</p>

<p>are you a URM? if so, you’re fine. if not, it’s also fine, but you might consider just taking it once again.</p>
<p>but like enrique said, you should focus on the other parts of your app too, especially that essay.</p>
<p>thanks for all the input! yeah i’m really trying to get more volunteering in and like start a club, and i have some decent stuff already. i haven’t really gotten like awards or anything fantastic like that though
