Sat Scores (Average or Highest?)

If you take the SATs twice, do you send the average of both scores or is it the highest score?

Thanks

Highest 10char

You send the actual test scores; if the college accepts score choice you can send that test with the highest composite; if you send both college will, depending on college, either use the test with the highest composite or alternatively take the highest section scores from the combined tests to determine admission. No college averages scores.

I’ve never heard of averaging scores.

Alright, that clears things up. Also, it is not advisable to take the SAT more than two times (do colleges see how many times you take them)?

If you exercise score choice with College Board when sending scores, it sends only particular tests you ordered sent and provides nothing to show whether you even took the ones not sent. Obviously if you choose to send them all (the default position with CB), college will learn how many you took.

Also, a number of colleges reject score choice (your withholding any scores) and require you to send all SAT scores. Moreover, a lot of high schools put all your scores on your official high school transcript that is sent to colleges to which you apply, Thus, even if you exercise score choice with CB, the college may still learn of the scores and number of times you took the test.

I see, thank you very much!
