Hi. Well, I took my second SAT exam in October and received them back on time. From the two I have taken, my highest scores are as follows. Get ready for this....Math -490, Critical Reading - 490, Writing - 590. Yes, i know that these scores are very very low. I'm really panicking at the moment because i have seen some of your scores in this forum and mine are unbelieavably low. Another issue is, I'm a senior and thus far, I have not taken any AP courses in my high school career. However, I have done very good in other classes. ...but had difficulty in math. So, i hear applying Early Action can be an advantage..but I can't really do that with the SAT scores i have. Im registering for the December 3 SAT's... I need some advice on how I can show my best in the college applications. Should i take the ACT? Please..I will appreciate any kind of suggestion or advice . Thank you..

I think you should go for the ACTs - it sounds as if your confident you can only get higher scores

i would suggest the ACT as well. from what I've heard the ACT has a lot more hs curriculum based questions. so if you say that you do well in courses in school id say the ACT is the best way to go.

yeah take ACTs..or if you cram a lot and understand quickly, read grammatix and take the SAT again. By reading that book, your SAT should raise a lot...since you did a bit low.

Assuming you were to cram a load of vocabulary, you could easily increase CR by at least 100 points. Math is a little less coachable, but practice (and good calculator skills) can really help you make gains.

Many kids don't test well but are good students. Here is a list of SAT optional colleges:

Regrettably, you would hardly get into any of those schools with financial aid without SAT/ACT scores.

Thanks for the replies people. Yes, the only way to go is study hard for the next SAT's and also the ACT. If someone knows or has taken the ACT, how is it? I have some basic info from it's website.
