<p>I got a 2220 in Jan. My parents wanted me to take the SAT again because they knew I could do better, even though they were happy with my other score. I obliged but I didn't take studying TOO seriously, considering I had finals and college apps to work on. </p>
<p>I ended up getting a 2020 on the Dec exam....a drop of 200 points :0</p>
<p>Is this going to affect me horribly? I'm applying to a few ivies and other top schools.</p>
<p>This kinda makes me want to cry. I worked so hard for that Jan SAT score…I don’t want colleges to think that it was a fluke. I regret listening to my parents…I’m such an idiot.</p>
<p>No, nothing will happen. The vast majority of colleges (all ivies included) will only look at your greatest composite scores and use no other sat information whatsoever in evaluating you.
I doubt that your latter SAT score showed an increase in any of the categories, so your January SAT scores will be the only ones that colleges will be getting. </p>
<p>Once again, this will have absolutely no impact on your chances to get into college; you can rest easy.</p>

I’m a Hispanic senior, with great ECs and GPA but my SAT scores are pretty…mediocre I guess.</p>
<p>Since Ivies accept January as the last testing date, should I re-take my SAT a third time? But this time, studying for sure and getting a 2300+? Or re-take my SAT subject tests? Math II I got 750 and Biology I got 710. Or should I just…not re-take either?</p>

<p>First of all, I posted this exact thread after the November SAT when my score dropped 200 points froma 2090 to a 1890. SO your not alone! haha. but don’t worry, as the other person said, it won’t affect you because they look at your highest score. </p>
<p>I personally reccomend that you don’t retake either of them because you can’t guarentee that you will do better and I think your scores are already pretty high. At this point, just work on making ur application amazing in tersm of personal statements and reccomendation letters. </p>
