Ben, if Caltech puts a lot of weight on the science Sat IIs, is it going to look bad if I only have one? I despise standardized testing, so I took the minimum: Math IIc, 800; Physics, 800. I am really hoping thats going to be enough. Since I'm homeschooled should I take more?

No, if you fulfill the requirements, it's good. (I really meant "science and math".) An extra one certainly can't hurt, but don't go out of your way to do it.

so it doesn't look bad to keep taking these sat tests? I wanted to apply to caltech early, and I think there's only one more time to take the tests before the application deadline, right? thing is, my physics and chem sat II scores aren't top-notch and... neither are my sat I scores. there's a certain feeling of disappointment when my psat math was 77, math level 2 sat was 780 and... math on sat I was 700. sigh

so this is for sure going to make it extra hard for me to be competitive?

If I had a 700 on SAT Math I I'd retake.

well, lots of retakes hurt a little bit, but bad scores hurt more. i'd give anything 700-ish or below another try. why not?
