SAT scores for EA?

So I am going to submit my EA application on Saturday, but I'm confised about SAT scores.

Do I need to send them to MIT before the November 1st deadline?

Also, I don't have to do financial aid (FAFSA and CSS profile) until later, right?

Thanks!

My best guess from looking at the site just now is that you should do the "send" by the Nov 1 date. It does not specifically state this, but it does state that all tests must be completed by that time. With that in mind, the last test date before Nov 1 was this past Oct 4. Those scores are available tomorrow AM.

I don't know about the financial aid timeline.

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you. I talked to couple of colleges and I can confirm this statement for you: Its ok to send your score a couple of days before the deadline. I suggest that you send the scores through their website when the scores comes out tomorrow. For the Nov 1st deadline, most schools start reviewing your app around mid Nov or when they have all of your materials in front of them. So if you send it tomorrow, you don't have to worry about sending a rush report. To be sure, call the schools you are EA or ED-ing to see if this is acceptable. Good luck

Alright, so you think I should send my MIT scores now? as opposed to rushed on Nov.1?

I have a question: I can't find whether or not Oct. 25th ACT will reach MIT in time for EA. I'm requesting that the score be sent to straight to the school, but I just don't know if it'll be there in time for them to review my application.

According to the Standardized Test Requirements page on the MIT Admissions website, as long as you indicate the MIT school code when you take the ACT on 10/25, there should be no problem with the scores getting to them in time for EA consideration.

In order to apply for freshman admission, you must take the required tests on or before the November test date for Early Action or the January test date for Regular Action.

Your scores must be reported to us officially from the testing agency; scores you list on your application and scores appearing on your school transcript will not be considered official. Our SAT and TOEFL code is 3514 and our ACT code is 1858.

... We recommend that you list MIT as a school to receive your scores when you take the test.

oh, speaking of sending scores, do we need to have college board send the AP ones over or is it sufficient that the guidance counselor puts them on our official transcript?

You do not need to send your AP scores at this time. Self-report them on your application (and if they're on your official transcript that's fine); you only need to send them to MIT if you are matriculating, for placement into or out of the appropriate GIRs.

ok so I sent my scores yesterday and its $9.50 which I think is rediculous for one core report, and I though I wasted my money because today I found out that my school sends scores with the transcripts. But, they don't take the school reports officially, so now I need to check my other schools because that is obnoxious that they don't take the school reports as offical scores even though collegeboard sends our scores directly to the school!
