So I got my test scores on the SAT back. I had felt pretty confident when I took it, hoping my scores were better than my ACT. Here's the scoop.

ACT: 31
My SAT came out today:
Total:2120
Math: 750
Reading: 710
Writing: 660

I know that these scores aren't great. No excuses, but I'm bad at standardized tests. Always have been. I was deferred during Yale's SCEA, and was hoping to make it in in RD, but has this crushed my dream of attending Yale? Ironically, my AP tests were great (and my SAT II's will be much the same. I'm good when it comes to focusing on a single subject. It's the switching back and forth that messes with me).

The 25th percentile for all 3 sections of the SAT is 700 so ± 25% of Yales students have SAT scores of less than 2100. You are not screwed, but obviously higher would be better.

Relax. Scores aren’t everything. Make your essay and application stand out. I had an SAT score of 1900. I didn’t retake it or anything. I was accepted SCEA. I hope that gives you hope. :)

tbh nothing’s ever based on solely the sat score… it’s just that the lower score you have, the more stellar the rest of your profile has to be to get you in :)

and once you make it around the 2200 mark then 4get sats nd work on the rest of your app :o
