Hi. I just took practice test 2 in the official guide. I dont know what score to assign the test based on the ranges that they gave me. Can you please help determin an accurate number? Here are my scores for each sections.

Critical reading:
54 right 13 wrong 0 omitted

Writing
40 right 9 wrong 0 ommitted. (I gave myself a 12 on the essay because I wrote the same essay before at my SAT testing company and recieved a 12)

actually u can make a rough estimate
for cr, +54 - 3 = 51 ish is ur raw score.
4 wrong adds up to a -1 . CR = 620
ur math is somewhere at 610.
W 37 = 590 ish if ur essay is 8

lol guys i don’t think you are helping hahaha

he means he knows his raw score but is unsure how to equate it…at least…i think?

many CCers either use the average between the two scores or the lower score. Ummm…yeah it doesn’t tell you exactly, annoyingly enough. But perhaps that’s for the better, since you shouldn’t be expecting the same exact score on the actual thing.

I mean I caculated my Raw score for critical reading and it was 51 and i looked on the chart for the score range and it said i was in the 610-670 range. Is there anyway way to predict the actual score within this range?

Oh ok thanks bsDBer2010. Btw. Do you guys think that this is a good score? I’m going to be taking the real one in October and really want to get above a 2200. I’m pretty sure that I have a good grasp of the material. I feel like I shouldn’t be missing as many as I do in CW and esp. writing. What’s the best way to improve about 200 pts?

your score is only around 1800, even if u do a lil better, it’s only like 1900 max.
2200+ is quite not possible.
so u’re speaking of 400pts of increase here,not 200.
u can aim for a 2000, but 2200 woot.

Ren the SAT’er. In the BB my ranges of scores are 610-670, 560-640, 660-790. If you take the average of each score, my total would be 1960. It’s around 1800 if you take the extreme low which I don’t think would be accurate.

It’s probably a pretty good indicator, but still the most accurate is if you take the lowest part of the range - that way you’ll be sure to score at least that on the real test ;)…
