SAT scores not doing so great

so to keep it short, i took the SAT three times (a mistake) and got 1470, 1510, then 1470 again. and im literally shaking because some schools i wanted to apply to require all scores. is that gonna hurt me a lot or will they just take the 1510 and move on?

1510 and move on. Schools take your highest and for the most part there is really no practical difference. I also think you can decide which score to send. 1510 is a fantastic score, it was good enough for my son who was accepted into a school with a 7% acceptance rate.

if your score lies in the 40-80 percentile, it will have no pretty much no impact on your application. i don’t know many schools where the 40 percentile is above a 1510 (maybe MIT, etc)

also don’t take it again because you honestly probably couldn’t do much better (30pts ->1540+) without much studying, which is not worth your time. take a subject test or focus on a different part of the application instead

@BrianBoiler may i ask what school your son got accepted into?

@jujunette01 I’m not thinking of taking it again, I was only wondering because some schools i looked into required all SAT scores /:

it might look a little weird that your last score wasn’t the highest but a 1510 is a very strong score and that’s what they will focus on
