My son got an email today from an early action school telling him they didn't have his SAT scores (among other things). I just checked the college board website and they only show scores being sent to the 4 schools he selected when he registered for the SATI test he took in May 2006. But he also took SATIIs in October 2006 and selected 4 schools to report scores to. None of those 4 schools are showing up. I guess we call in a little while.

I'd call today; no need to wait.

We had this happen also - with both the May and June tests - we assumed they had been sent and were very surprised to see that they were not. I suggest paying NOW to have them sent then sorting out the why they were not sent. The college board told us that we would need the score report with the schools listed on it or the registration form with the schools listed as proof.

That is annoying.

We had trouble with one school receiving scores that I had paid for and College Board reported being sent. It was resolved over the phone (by me faxing our copy of the score sheet and then reading the scores to the school because they couldn't read the fax) - but here's the dumb part: I called College Board and they needed a supervisor to "look into it." About three weeks later the supervisor called me back - meanwhile my son had already been accepted. I couldn't even remember why she was calling me at that point!

Great service, huh?

I remember choosing the colleges to send scores to with my son! I was at the keyboard because I needed to select a test site. The SATII was not offered at our HS and my son had no idea which of the other available sites was most convenient, so I was at the keyboard and then he told me which colleges to send scores to. I can't remember exactly which schools we chose, but I remember choosing 4 schools.

The good news is the hs tells us that it is their experience that colleges accept the scores that are on the hs transcript. The college that emailed us had not received the transcript from the hs!

He has 3 EA schools. One I know accepted a photocopy of a snailmail actual score report (not a printout of an online report). The one that just emailed us will accept the transcript (wife overnighted it this morning). I think I will phone the second school just to confirm they got the test scores from the hs transcript. Frankly, I would rather call the school than the College Board. I don't know how the test registration (and credit card payment) worked but somehow the score reports didn't.

NJ if the third school is willing to accept the scores on a transcript, and they do not have a transcript either, perhaps the GC can fax the transcript directly to the admissions office today (if they required it today). The GC in our hs had to do this for one of my son's rolling schools b/c the transcipt was misplaced. We caught it early, b/c my son contacted all admissions offices to check that all materials were received.

We are fine with all 3 schools. I phoned college #2 and they confirmed they got his SAT scores from his hs transcript. I'm not even going to call College Board unless I can find the admissions ticket (doubtful) that lists the colleges on it. I dug out the official mailed score report and it says, "No information about colleges or scholarship programs is provided here because you did not ask us to report your scores." I don't know about you, but we get the scores as soon as they are available online and don't even look at the "official report" when it comes in the mail 3 months later, or whenever it is those things arrive.

The college didn't want a fax so my wife sent the package via overnight mail this morning. That should be fine. The hs put it all together in one hour. (This includes having the principal sign the transcript). The support from the hs is great.

You should phone 1 of the schools your son is applying to...

Just for future reference:If things don't work out in terms of the schools getting the scores, have your son ask his GC to call the College Board. The CB has a special number for GC's and they often respond quicker to calls that come in there than when kids call themselves. But, it sounds like all is under control.

I agree with Carolyn's post. The GC can try to call on your behalf. However, even though they have a "direct line" they are sometimes unable to resolve issues with the College Board. DD's scores were "missing" and the GC called on her behalf (EA application deadline was approaching and no scores...). The CB was not very helpful to the GC. They were also not helpful at all to us. The scores did eventually get sent, but we also rushed them just in case. It cost us a fortune to get SAT scores sent. I'm very happy to be done with the College Board.
