I got 232 on the PSAT last year, and I got 2350 on the SAT I in Jan 2012 when I was a freshman. Why won't NMSC accept SAT scores before Oct 2012????? What's the reason? Can I still qualify for Finalist?

You cannot use an SAT score from your freshman year to qualify you for NMF. It’s not a new rule…it’s always been that way. You can register to take the Oct, Nov, or Dec SAT this year to get a qualifying score. From the looks of your previous SAT and PSAT scores it should be no problem whatsoever for you.

you need to sign up for another SAT…sorry.

Are you afraid to take it again? I doubt that you would do worse…3 years later.

i guess if someone is afraid of getting a lower score (like another story about a high ACT scorer) then apply to your top schools, send your scores, then take a Dec SAT. That way your most recent score doesnt get sent.

I know that you can’t do “score choice” at some schools, but if you apply and submit your scores, and then later take the test again, do you have to send scores again?
