<p>So I plan to take my first SAT in May but I think I will get lower than 2000 on that one. I am gonna retake next October for a better score. I am working hard toward that. My goal is at least 2100.</p>
<p>However, some schools like Yale require applicants to send in all of their scores. Will I be screwed if I get like 1700-1800 in May but 2100 in October ? Will it be a huge burden in my application ?</p>
<p>Colleges will superscore your results (take the highest score from each section), so it won’t really hurt you. It will just show that you tried hard and brought up your score. It shouldn’t be a bad thing. Collegeboard has introduced the score choice program, but I’ve already received emails telling me that colleges prefer that all scores are sent. Not ALL schools superscore, but it’s very common.</p>

i saw on the sites of many school, they always state the range (or the 25th -75th percentile) of the combined score (CR + Maths)
but do they look at the combined score or they look at each score of each section individually?
Because if they consider the combined score, mine would be ok for many school (i got 1280). However, my maths is quite high (740) but my CR is super low (540)…</p>
<p>Yes, they do look at your scores individually. Those 25-75% numbers are for statistical purposes. You can always take the test again, and hopefully do better in CR.</p>
