SAT scores: Ultimate factor in getting accepted?

Obviously, the UC's consider more than just your SAT score and what not, but I can't help but feel uneasy.

The main school that I really want to get into is UCLA. I've applied to other UC's as well, but the SAT scores dilemma still applies.

I got my SAT scores today, and needless to say I feel that they are inadequate for UCLA. I'm aware that UCLA is a very selective school, therefore making it very difficult to get in. But I just wanted to know how much does an SAT score affect an application?

I'm very worried, because the SAT seemed like a very big factor to me, even though I feel like the other parts of my application were pretty strong.

SAT is important, but it’s not everything. Depends what you mean by inadequate. If your score was within 200 points of your school’s average, you don’t need to worry too much if the other parts of your app are strong.
