Should I re-take the SAT? (great math score, sucky reading score)

MATH 800
READING 660
WRITING 740

Also, while I was taking the SAT MATH 2, my calculator died and i spent foreverrrr trying to rearrange batteries/do everything by hand and ran out of time lol...so I ended up with a 710. This score does not represent my math skills at all (I've already taken calc 1,calc 2, multivariable calc3, differential equations, etc.) and got an 800 on math sat 1. I want to major in engineering. Is this score worth sending? My other subject test scores are 750 physics and 690 literature. Which 2 should I send?? Thank YOU!!!!

As you observe, a 660 CR isn’t great for the most selective schools, so you might want to retake if you have time. As cba noted, Yale requires all scores, but some other selective schools allow you to use score choice.

“In a statement Thursday morning, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Jeff Brenzel said Yale will require applicants to send all their scores for the SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests, rejecting the the CollegeBoard’s new Score Choice option that would allow students to reveal only their best scores from individual exams.”

^^ Don’t know. Last year, when sending scores to Yale, the option to “hide scores” on the CB website was blacked out. Not sure about this year . . .

Yale takes a holistic view of an applicant. However, a 1900-2000 would generally not be admitted unless there is a great combination hooks, URM, spectacular EC’s, etc.

When I sent my scores to Yale from collegeboard this year, I did not have the choice to select scores… the selection boxes were grayed out, and it explained that Yale wants to see all scores. so I’m not sure how you managed to do that.
