Mechrockz, still don’t agree with you.

The only official statement of a top college I could come across, claiming to give minimum weightage to the SAT Writing section in the 2011 admissions cycle was from Johns Hopkins University, as follows:

The only posts or articles which claimed that SAT Writing doesn’t hold equal importance to Math and CR are from 2006, 2007 or 2008. That’s 6, 5 and 4 years ago respectively. 4 years ago, I was 14.

Here’s something you should read: Higher Education Professionals | College Board; It succinctly summarizes how the Writing portion of the SAT is the most accurate indicator among the three sections of first year college GPA.

Furthermore, here’s another source, that classifies colleges on how they consider the SAT writing section: [New SAT Scoring Policies from 374 Top Schools](New SAT Scoring Policies from 374 Top Schools) A quick trip to the Internet Time Machine (yes, that’s a website :p) shows that this webpage hasn’t been edited since mid-2007. Most of the colleges I (presumably others as well) care about, are already in the “equal weight” section. 5 years ago, colleges that matter to us considered the SAT writing at par with Math and CR. Today, there might be even more.

Last, but not least, [SAT Writing - Does the SAT Writing Section Matter?](Should You Take the SAT Optional Essay Exam?)
A compilation of some top university writing upper and lower quartile statistics that you can compare to their Math and CR quartiles to see that the standard of admits is same across the board in all three sections.
