I am a junior and I sent my SAT scores to the 4 free options that collegeboard gives you. When i got my results i was less than satisfied and I'm going to take the SAT's again. I was wondering if i could send my other SAT scores once I'm actually applying. Or did i mess up my chances?

You can definitely send your new scores when you are applying next fall. Some schools open a file for you when they receive your scores, and some will not even hold onto them without other application materials. It totally depends on the school, so some of the 4 schools will not even have a record of these scores by the time you are applying.

Are you by chance taking a subject test in May or June though? If you are registered to take a subject test then college board has held off on sending your SAT scores. They wait for the subject scores in May (or June) and then send all scores together to the 4 schools.

You can find out if your SAT scores were already sent by logging into your SAT account —go to the “history” for your sent scores. If they haven’t yet been sent then you may be able to call college board and cancel the order to have them sent to the 4 schools. If it’s too late, don’t worry about it. Most schools will want you to send all scores anyway (some will “superscore” 3 test sittings).
