Does anyone know how much sat scores are really considered? Mine are really bad and seeing everyones stats on here crushes my confidence every time I look at them. = /

If your SAT's are not over 2000, look somewhere else. The only exception is if you have a "hook"--legacy, national recognition, athletics, etc.-then probably over 1850-1900

I got an 1860. I am a legacy, I have a huge amount of ecs and leadership positions and all that, good grades, and a little connection but i dont know if it will do much. I have a 4.3 w gpa and like a 3.8 nonweighted and im in the top 10% at a competitive catholic school. However, I know my scores put a damper on my app so I am not really sure how much that is going to hold me back. I guess I'll find out in a week though...

I disagree with Eureka that you have to look elsewhere if you are not over 2000. ND does look at them quite a bit, about as much as all the other schools, but they aren't the be all and end all in most cases. I know kids who had below a 1200 (old version) at Notre Dame so it does happen; your application just has to be very strong elsewhere.

Don't be dissuaded from applying. Of course, don't apply ONLY to Notre Dame, but if this is where you want to go, then by all means, apply. You have too little to lose not to take a gamble on this.

If I'm right, you're a junior, so you've got time to bring up your score. Between my junior and senior year my score shot up 300 points with some prep (And not a coach either, I bought a $20 Sparknotes book and studied over the summer). Work for it and things might pan out for you. There's no use in giving up.

I'm a senior. It would be nice if i could take them again but unfortunately it's a littttttle bit too late lol. I did take them twice and my score only went up 40 points. I am awful at taking standardized tests.

Irish...were the kids who had under a 1200 scholarship athletes, or just normal students?

If you're a senior then you've only got a few more days to wait. Good luck.

normal students

kate i'm in a situation similar to yours... the only difference is that my sat score is even LOWER... lol! I've got an 1830 (1210 old). But for some reason I'm a little confident about the outcome of this admissions process. Good luck to youuu and we'll be knowing whats going on late this week :)
I'm excited!!
