SAT Scores

I've been reading the board a lot lately and thank you guys for the help and advice. For backround: I am junior in high school and am attending AIM (3)this summer. I am almost Eagle Scout, a XC/Track runner, Boys State, 3.4 unweighted, A score of 3 on AP Euro, Senior Patrol Leader of Scout Troop, Club Officer for School, and captain of 2 sports teams next year.
I know you get this question a lot, but what are my chances? Does my GPA hurt my chances? Thanks

Also, I just had a question on my SAT Scores:
Verbal: 670
Math: 650
Writing: 520

I've tested twice and wondering If my writing score will hurt my chances? I know its not a big factor, but It's sort of a low score for the academy, do you guys think I should take the test again?

(I have plans on the June test date, but If it is important this definitely takes priority)

apply early.. i know somebody with similiar stats that got alternate status.

You sound like a good candidate. I would retake and try to get the writing test up a bit. The average SAT score last year was 1280 under the old test but the scores ran the gamut from 1130 to 1410. Keep working hard, stay in shape, stay out of trouble and get your app in early like Taffy advises. Good luck!

Thanks for the Input. I definetly will apply early. I'm also been talking to coach of xc/track and hope that will help as well. It seemed to help for AIM, I got a loa for this summer. So I guess I will sign up for the June SAT and practice for the writing.

Thanks Again

hhsxc,

You have already recived acceptance for AIM this summer? Well, I guess they did say they would notify us BY 15-MAY not ON 15-May. I'm curious, did they send you a letter or email or what?

Congrats, btw

Bobm

I have not gotten the acceptance letter, but I got an LOA for AIM from the admissions department. I contacted the track coach earlier this year.
