SAT Scores

How would these scores be for admission to Stanford (white female):
SAT I: 2100
SATII:
Math: 660
History: 590
Spanish: 680

Raise all scores. Your SAT I score is way below average, as are your SAT II scores (especially that history one eek!).

Aim for a minimum of 2200 on your SAT I and 700's on your SATII's for a decent shot (actually, for any shot at all).

I guess I'll do one of these chances threads.

Actually, what's the breakdown for your SAT I score (M+V+W)? Personally, I think a 2100 is competitive for admissions, but it certainly won't help you stand out, unfortunately. For SAT II, make sure you take Math IIC, as Math IC won't really help you. If that score is for the IIC, definitely get that to 740+ because the curve for IIC is so generous. In general, 700+ SAT II's would be competitive for admissions at any elite college.

scared to ask, but i don't wanna start a new thread on this...

how is:

SAT I: 2260
Verbal: 740
Math: 780
Writing: 740

SAT II:
Math II: 800
Physics: 800
Chem: 790

Some other random ACT and APs..

your SAT scores are definitely good enough for you to have a chance. But that's it SAT scores don't really decide if you get in just is there a chance to get in. In your case your SAT and SAT2 scores are good enough. Good Luck :)

yeah, guys, you're so much more than some numbers...

there's no way we can predict chances based on a few numbers, anyway

my advice? aim for the best you personally can. realize that if you get into a school where the SAT average is 2400 and you have a 1800, they'll expect you to do 2400-level thinking and work all four years, and you may or may not enjoy that

This is also very true. By all means, aim high. I have always regarded ambition as the key to success. But one need also be honest with himself... keep in mind that colleges like Stanford, while they certainly do give much weight to the more personal side of each applicant (reflected by EC's, recs, essays, etc.), consider this factor only once they have determined that the applicant is competent enough to get good grades if accepted.

Would I be out of the running for stanford with a 3.7 unweighted GPA with a heavy courseload (not the heaviest, though) and a 1460/2210 (m: 710, r: 750 w:750)?
( also: I think I can push up my math score next time. I got an 800 on my math practice text!)

No you would not be out of the running IMO. The average GPA last year was 3.9, though.

What about me? Sorry, hah.
2160/2400
1450/1600
M: 740 CR: 710 W: 710

There is no way to predict based on SAT scores who will get in, but you can often predict who will not.

like I said, this is all just silly

"what about me? number number number slash number number number number slash M2C number"

what are we supposed to say? even after that diatribe we still have no clue what you're like....

someone,
This is not silly at all. They're asking whether their stats virtually eliminate them from the admissions race, not whether they'll get in or not.

maver1ck - your stats look good to me, but you might want to try to raise that SAT I score if you can... it will raise your chances.

cjhsstudent847 - your stats are good and safely in the ballpark. You have nothing to worry about.

what about these:
math: 760
cr: 760
writing: 790
total:2310 or 1520
sat ii:
math ii: 800
chem: 650

Your SAT1 is fine. If you can redo your SAT2 Chemistry I would advise you do that but all in all your scores are fine.

Ditto the above.
