SAT scores

Applying for Penn ED this year. Does Penn look at the best SAT score for each of the sections or will we be assessed by our best overall score?

Example:

April SAT: 700 Math, 600 Verbal, 700 Writing
May SAT: 600 Math, 700 Verbal, 800 Writing

Penn's Score for You: 700 Math, 700 Verbal, 800 Writing

Same goes for sub-scores of the ACT

They seriously look at your best sub scores from different sitting of the ACT?

no .

Even if a college does look at the highest grade, they also see what you got on the other sections. Remember that.

Whether you like this statement or not, it comes right from an admissions counselor at Penn: (paraphrased) We take the best scores from each section because we want to have good statistics like every other school. What would Penn stand to gain by making their averages lower. Don't tell me this is unethical, immoral, untrue. I know that is untruthful, but thats what they do. College is a business just like Enron, Adelphia, Tyco, and Haliburton.

haha very true

fjm_001, the answer to your question is not a definate no because it is different for all schools. But I'm not 100 percent sure about Penn. You might want to call and ask.
