Hey! Future Wellesley Girls! What did you guys get on the SAT? Each of the 3 sections... I got my score, but the English (both reading and writing) is below the Wellesley average... =( What did you guys get? I hope that they are good. ^_^

Wait, you mean prospectives from the class of 09? Hmmm, okay.

I'm more of the English bent: CR 720 M 670 and W 740 (only took once). I know my math's on the low side, but I got a 690 on the Math 1 Subject test without doing much studying and I'm also in AP Calc this year, so I'm hoping that balances things out a bit. :)

Out of curiosity, WZLY, when you say you're below the Wellesley average, how far below are we talking?

What Subject Tests are you all sending in?

prospective wellesley class of 2013er!

CR 660 M 790 W 740 (one sitting)
not exactly a CR person, but i know i can write well, so hopefully, it'll balance out in the end. besides, we need more women who are good at math :) i also plan on doing science at wellesley, so the math will be more helpful than the reading. don't worry though, i can read!!

i sent in my scores with my october subject test (math 2), but i'm applying regular decision. they'll get it/keep it until then, right? i'm probably not sending in my application until december.
oh, and in response to LaMariposaAzul, i'm sending in bio M, us history, math 2.

good luck, girls!!

CR 710 M 650 W 720 (first sitting w/out much prep)
im still deciding whether or not to submit this though :)

and i'm sending in us history and lit..
soooooo not a math person. ;)

CR 710 M 730 W 790 (loads of prep)
Sending Math II and Spanish

I feel like asking for people to post their scores might not have been such a good idea if you were feeling unsure about yours, though. Really, don't worry about it. I'm sure Wellesley looks at every applicant as a whole person, not just a set of numbers. :) Half of the people they admit are below the median scores (just by definition of a median), so you have nothing to worry about. If you have a good GPA or ECs or an interesting personal story or minority background, these things can all balance out lower test scores.

CR 770 M 730 W 740 (one sitting)
I'm sending Bio, Chem, and French w/Listening (which I still have to take... blergh)

I don't even know why I took two science SAT 2s... I hate science. My high school is really science-oriented and they almost force you to take the Bio and Chem tests if you're in honors. Our honors chem class is like AP, and I'm pretty much the only person who was in honors physics last year and isn't taking an AP in science this year. Three languages, baby!

And to WZLYLOVER, I think that it's really important to remember what flying_pig319 said -- averages are averages, so 50% of accepted students have scores that are lower than the average.

Hum... I just got back my Oct. score... Math: 720; CR: 610; W: 600... I know, that's bad~ But i have been in the U.S. only for 3 years and english is not my first language... i hope they will take that into consideration. But my ranking in school is pretty high: 3/120. I took 3 APs last year (two 4s and one 3) and is taking 4 currently~ I got 730 on the US Hist SAT II and 700 on the Chem... and is taking Math 2 in Nov... Ah! You guys' scores are all excellent... i don't know if i would have a chance...

Thank you Flying... for the consolation!! =)

Well if English isn't your first language, that totally explains your low scores-- you have nothing to worry about :)
Your non-English-related subject, Math, you got a great score on (and same with your SAT IIs). I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Haha~ Thanks! Are you applying Wellesley ED?

I'm still not sure... laskjdfalsdfalskdfajlskd

my d has 660CR, 800M, 700W and will be sending Chem (730) and Math II (720) i believe. she's not really english/humanities-type (considering that's her second language).

Her scores are really good! How many years has she been here?

I see... I am applying early. Flying, what other schools are you applying?

Wesleyan, Haverford, Oberlin, etc
All small LACs

my d has been here for about 6 years. her first 3 years, she did struggle with english as well. on top of that, she had to take spanish (actually her spanish might be better than english at this point)

I visited Wesleyan and Haverford. They are nice but i am not applying there~ Kind of far from where i am... I am also applying to Barnard College... do you know Barnard? it's a sister school of Columbia.

Haha~ I took Spanish for one year, i had to, otherwise i couldn't graduate from my hs.

CR: 710, M: 770, W: 670 (my best score out of 3)
I hate essays... haha

I hoped my October score will have writing of over 700,
but it decreased...

I am doing Math 2, Bio, and chem
I am expectin for all of them to be over 700, but not sure about chem...
(it's been only 2 months; how can I forget what I studied just 2 months ago??)

Anyway, good luck to all you guys~~
and wish me luck, too~~

When you send a score report from college board, do they send all your SAT IIs or just the ones you pick?

I've got 690 Math 1, 710 World History, and 800 U.S. History. And I'm taking the English one in November (which I expect to do well on, thank goodness). :)

Another standardized testing question (if no one minds getting a little off topic): do you have to send your AP scores in to every college you're applying to, or are you supposed to self-report them and then send the official documents in to the school you got into, for purposes of class selection and such?
