I know Mudd is known for crazy high SAT scores.

However, do you think someone with around a 2000 could get in?
(Hoping to improve my score)

I'm a female who is a resident of California.

from that score alone, it doesn’t look good

I got in, both as a freshman entry applicant as well as a transfer student, with 2080: 800M, 610CR,670 W

male asian/white california (PDHS for OP)) applicant.

^ see 800M

Hang in there Blackroses. I know someone who got in with a combined lower score than that (white male), and there was no 800 in Math. Harvey Mudd really does seem to look at the total package. So if there are other things, you can be the exception that proves the rule! Some people just don’t test well, and admissions seems to take it into account.

720 Math, 680 Reading and 620 Writing. I’m a white male, and I got in so SAT’s aren’t going to make or break the application. Though to be complete I also got a 33 ACT which is somewhat better than my 2020 SAT.

The details are up for debate, but I have determined that SAT scores (beyond maybe a 1950-ish) don’t affect your application. Mudd looks for smart people, and most smart people happen to have high SAT scores. So if you’re smart and your transcript shows it, you’ve got a good chance.
