SAT Scores

UNCW is my first choice school, but I'm not sure about my SAT score... I just got my score back from October 9, and my highest scores put together with my scores from June add to a 1750/2400 or an 1110/1600. I know this isn't ideal, but should I be okay to get accepted? If not, I'll retake it again in December... But I want to know if I can get in without taking it for a third time.

I also have a 4.0, various extracurricular activities, and great teacher recommendations. I'd also like to get admitted to the honors program, but that's secondary to getting into the school.

Your score seems to be a little bit on the low side. UNCW’s middle 50 percent of admitted students scored an 1130 to a 1250 on the math and critical reading sections of the SAT in 2010. However, since you have great ECs, recs, and a great GPA, then you should have a solid chance. Are you in-state or out of state? If you’re in-state, I’d say you have a good shot at getting in. Not so sure about the honors program, though. If you think you can make a big improvement on your SAT in December, then you should consider retaking. You’ve got nothing to lose, so you might as well go for it

does unc wilmington super score your sat scores?

UNCW will super score any SAT a student sends in. If you are looking at our averages posted on our official website: [First-Year Admission - Overview](404: Page Not Found | UNCW) you will see the middle 50% of students admitted in 2010 scored between an 1130 and 1250 on the Math and Critical Reading sections only. We do review the writing section, but it is not averaged in to your larger score. If you have chosen to take the ACT with Writing the 2010 UNCW average for admitted students was a composite of a 25. Standardized tests are just one portion of the admission process for UNCW, and we encourage you to review our website or call to get a better idea for what we are looking for!
