SAT Scores?

I sent my transcript to UVa at the end of September just to get it out of the way. I'm not applying early decision, I am applying for regular decision. I didn't know that the transcripts for my school have the SAT score listed there, but it does! My transcript right now has my June 2010 score and that one was really bad...I did take it again in November 2010 and I know I did a lot better. Will UVa see the November scores over those? I am sending them the ones from College Board to make it official of course...

Also, how competitive is it to become a neuroscience major at UVa? I know it isn't unlimited but how many people do they choose for it? I either want to do neuroscience or biochemistry at UVa.

UVA only uses your highest test score on each section, no matter how many scores you send them.

You are not competing for admission to any major at this point. The Office of Admission admits you into one of the four schools/colleges that take first years.

You can read about declaring for neuroscience one the website: [Declaration Requirements for Undergraduate Neuroscience at UVA](http://faculty.virginia.edu/neuroscience/declaration.html)

Dean J is right.

I should hope so, in light of my title and where I work!

Kid, perhaps you think my name is Dean? It’s actually my title. I work in the Office of Admission at UVa. :)

Alright, Dean J, I also have a question about recommendations. I am sending my through the mail because my school doesn’t do it electronically, should I write my CommonApp ID on the envelope or will you guys track down my ID from my name written? And this goes straight to the admission’s office right?

Dean J - I’ve got to admit I had an uncontrollable laugh-attack due to your last post in this thread! WONDERFUL!

As an instate father of two kids (Freshman in College & Sophomore in HS) I REALLY appreciate you taking your time and posting here on CC.

Too often, unfortunately, many posts are based on ‘hearsay/rumors/wishful thinking’ rather than on facts; I LOVE your contributions: mostly short, down to facts, to the point! Included in your last one was yet a nice portion of humor - awesome!

Thanks a lot!

btw - my freshman did get accepted to UVA, but chose to go oos for Engineering … maybe it’ll work out for UVA with my younger son …?! Financially I’d appreciate that … !!
