What do colleges think if your second set of scores is ~100 - 150 points less than your first set?

I haven't taken it the second time yet but it's in less than a month. I ask because I have not studied at all this time around and will not be able to as extensively as before due to senior course load and volunteering. I predict a lower score because there are just a lot of tedious grammar and math rules that I have to re-memorize and might not be able to. I got a 2250 the first time if that matters.

PS: For Early Decision applications, will I be able to look at the October scores before I send them or do I have to send them the day I take the test?

Your logic confuses me. You already took it once, are sure that your score will drop if you retook, and yet still plan to take it? If you are absolutely sure of a score drop, cancel your test date and just use the first score you received. However, upon some refreshing, you discover that you actually improved, then go retake it.

a 2250 is pretty good, unless your aiming for ivies, then you should cancel the other one and stop reatking unless you are sure of a 2350 +. but reataking it for a 50-80 point improvement is not worth it.
