SAT Section 10 Writing Question

Born of Ibuza parents in Nigeria, novelist Buchi Emecheta moved to England in 1962, since which she has lived in North London.
B. 1962 and has lived since then in North London
D. 1962 and lived since then in North London

I limited the answer choices to those two. The answer is B but I chose D because “moved” and “lived” were consistent. I looked online (someone else had posted the same question) and people said it’s B because “has lived since then” means it’s ongoing. I thought “lived since then” is also ongoing. If not, what does it mean?

Thank you!

Most of the time when you see “since”. You should use present perfect as you can see here.

Got it, thanks!
