Okay so I'm a little confused here. Earlier in July I took my SAT and scored 1850. I'm going to retake it (crossing my fingers for 2000+)but when I apparrently made it so the scores were sent right after they were calculated to some colleges. (only 4 instate ones which are easy to get into) . I am wondering how was I able to do this, and how can I prevent doing it again? Thank you.

I assume you mean you took the test in June since there is not a July test. When you apply to take the SAT test there is a section on the application where you can list colleges to receive your score and when score comes out it is automatically sent to those colleges at no extra charge, so I am guessing that is what occurred. You can avoid that happening by simply not listing any colleges in that portion of the application. You can always order scores sent after you get results but that kind of send costs an extra fee.

i think everyone gets 4 free score report sendings…no matter if you send them when you take the test or later

don’t list any colleges.

“i think everyone gets 4 free score report sendings…no matter if you send them when you take the test or later”

My understanding is that you get free sends if you put them either in the application or update the list from the application by no later than one week after the applicable test (meaning before the score comes out). If you wait for score to come out to choose a college to send to, an additional fee will be charged.

^^^ yeah you’re right.

hmm…i shouldve just sent my scores haha
