I've noticed that I always tend to miss a question or two on these. Any advice? I want to make sure that on the real thing, I don't miss any of these or SC's. It's quite frustrating to have questions like these, which are deemed "give-me's", pull down one's score.

I’m interested too…These questions seem to be harder than those based on long passages. Any ideas?

Read them more slowly. Often, the short passages seem like they’re passages taken from the middle of a paragraph and therefore are harder to comprehend. Just take it more slowly and read the questions more carefully, it’ll come to you.

With the short passages, ALWAYS give the questions a quick scan before reading the passage. It takes no time, and that way you’ll know exactly what to look for when reading the passage. Hope that helps!

Every word counts. Be sure not to overlook stuff.

Read them much more slowly than you would read the long passages. Give yourself the time to absorb it, not to the point you read every detail, but so that you clearly know it. Then you should easily be able to eliminate 3 of the answer choices. Then out of the 2, one should clearly stand out. If not, you always have a little time to re-read it since its so short.

Give the questions a quick skim before you read the passage to. And the SC are the ones I always miss. So annoying. I always get 1-3 errors on each CR section, and its because of the SC. My vocab. sucks. I need to memorize a ton of words to do well on it.
