SAT Student Submitted Responses (for math) Question Regarding Decimals

Hello, I was curious as to how the SAT Student Submitted Responses work with decimals.

The student submitted section has 4 boxes to put in the answer, and for example if you do a problem and the answer is 42, and you put in “42.0”, will it be counted wrong (as you instead could simply put 42), or is correct as they are the same number (in other words, does the computer checking the tests account for the .0 or does it automatically count it as wrong)?

Thank you for taking your time to read my question and best of luck!

This sounds like more of a theoretical question, since no test-taker in his/her right mind would ever actually do such a thing. That being said, It says in the instructions that “columns you don’t need to use should be left blank.” So to state the obvious, no, I would not enter an answer of exactly 42 as “42.0”.
