SAT Study Habits/Plan

I was wondering if any CC`ers would like to share any of their effective study habits/plans. I'm a rising sophmore. I've taken 5/10 blue book tests and raised my score 200 points (1515 => 1715). It took about a months time and I'm looking for quicker results. My goal is 1800+ by the end of this summer and 2000+ by next summer.

I would highly appreciate that too =)!

The most effective habit is putting pen to paper ;)

Waitwut, you’re a sophomore and you’ve already raised your score 200 points in a month, and now you want quicker results? Oh lawd, just keep at whatever you’re doing cause it’s obviously working very well for you.

Thanks for the reply! I want to improve to 1800+ by the time I finish up using the Blue Book. Since, according to some users, it’s an accurate indicator of the actual SAT score. So, I’m looking for some good tips for studying. :)

What I’m doing right now is memorizing vocab from a huge packet and Direct Hits, while doing packets from a local prep class (really good place), and once I get through most of their packets I will start taking full tests from the Blue Book and reviewing  Hopefully that’ll bump my score pretty high.

You should get both volumes of Direct Hits and master every word, then move on to some additional vocab lists if you aren’t satisfied yet. It would be a good idea to read through silverturtle’s guide, as well as the other guides that are posted here so that you can pick up tips or skills that you can use. Consistent practice and watching out for careless errors should bring your SAT score up eventually. You are already improving at a good rate; if you actually plan to study all throughout the year, achieving 2200+ by your actual SATs should be manageable.
