SAT Subject Scores

Hi, I’m planning on applying to numerous major colleges for Fall 2016 and I just had some questions about admission. I’m planning on applying as a ChemE major and am debating on whether to send my subject scores as I did pretty bad on them but it’s too late to retake them. (Schools I’m applying to through CommonApp include Cornell, Princeton, Northwestern, and GeorgiaTech.
I got:
690-Chemistry
770-Math II
Should I still send my Chemistry score specifically since I didn’t even reach the 700s or should I just not send it in at all? Thanks! (Also sorry if this should be under another thread, I wasn’t sure)

You can determine, school to school, if they will make an impact. Schools look at information in a hierarchical order. You can look at their common data sets to learn that hierarchy. Here’s GA Tech’s http://www.irp.gatech.edu/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/CDS_2014-2015-061715-2.pdf. Scroll to section C. You’ll find they’ll look at them if submitted. At Northwestern on the other hand, they are required for some majors, but not looked at for others.

As a side note, have a safety or two. By that I mean a school you KNOW no matter what that you will get into AND JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, you know you can afford. Once the selectivity passes 20% or so, they have way more qualified candidates than spots. There’s a chance you could get rejected from all of those schools even with great stats. Always best to play it safe.

Good luck!
