SAT Subject Test- Biology Thread

I put amino acid as well. Ugh, what causes sickle celled amenia? :/

it was like two Hydrogen on one Nitrogen. Then bonded to a Carbon which was doubly bonded to an Oxygen. I put “amino acid” as the answer. I don’t recall if it was in the M section, I think it was in the previous section everyone takes.

Yeah, for sure it was an amino acid. For the amniotic egg, was it yolk or was it dehydration?

I thought the last May AP Bio exam was easier than this…

I put yolk. Yeah, I got a 5 on AP bio. I thought that test was A LOT easier then this SAT II bio… heh

What was in the plant cell that wasn’t in the animal cell? I felt really stupid for being stuck on that question. And how bout the other way around too? What was in the animal cell that wasn’t in the plant cell?

Argh, why didn’t they have easier choices? Like cell wall? -_-

-5 points could be an 800… Yay.

according to this:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=293334&page=23&highlight=Biology+December</a></p>

It was plastids.

What about that one question about the black fur/brown fur heredity. Was the answer to “What can be assumed by this cross” the answer “Black fur is dominant” ?

^ Yeah, that’s what I put.

Plastids for which question? Was the other one centrioles?

What was the answer to the very early question about which disease was in only two government facilities: Smallpox?

Was polio one of the answers to those questions (i think there were 4?)

I put malaria down for two of them, including the last question out of that group.

It was smallpox.

Polio is not an answer to any of them. The deadliest was malaria.

Read the other past thread. It’s the EXACT same test.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=293334&highlight=Biology+December</a></p>

(pay attention to silentsailor and I<3Pi’s answers because they got 800’s)

I don’t think the past thread ever agreed on the asexual reproduction question. Anyone remember what the choices were? It was mutations and something else.

OH YEA, does anyone remember the A, a, Aa, AA, aa questions?

Questions..

the ones with smallpox, malaria, polira(?), …throat.. kind of thing…

the one that shows the picture of the insects and asks u to identify the function of the each part.(was it A for the secretory, and reproductive system and A for the joint of the legs?)

the list of sequence of nucleotides and the questions ask about the one with single inversion and the single base pair sonething…

find the method that is not used in the Mendelian..blabla(was it phylogeny?)

showing the graph of the conc. of Hb, and the pressure and ask about the infant oxygen level…(I put that the Hb is at acidic sth…)

the brilliant purple seed and the red and blue seed one…
I put that the seed was incomp.domin.

sorry for sp & gramm. error. I am seriously raped by the test and now I cannot type the sentence correctly…

Shooooooot… I think I have to cancel my score…

I canceled this same test last time I took it and I probably did decently. I know I did better this time, even though I didn’t study. Anyhow, the curve really does make up for this super hard test. -5 =800!

What was the answer to the Mendel question? I left it blank :frowning:
Pretty sure the answer to the insect one was all A (position of legs, reproductive, and excretory).

The Hb/O2 question totally killed me. I didn’t answer questions 59 and 60 either.

Phylogeny was the answer. for sure.

Wonder if the curve wouldn’t be as lenient this time because it’s replicate? ): ): ):

Yes the purple seed is incomplete dominance (blue and red) for blending.
