I believe that as long as you get above a 750+ you should be fine because the academic index treats 750s and 800s as the same score.
@WinnerWannabe Would a 730 or 740 be considered uncompetitive scores by colleges?
Depends on the college. At a top 10 yeah, but at a top 30 no.
Scores are out! The curve must have been generous because I got an 800!
800!!
800
800!
The curve was not generous on my part. Was hoping for at least a 770, but unfortunately ended up with 750. On the other hand, I did tell myself that I would only retake if I had less than a 750.
@bobthebuilder13 It’s the mass of the tube. You need to measure the water level because it means the pressures inside the tube and outside are equalized. For example, an open upside down tube of gas near the surface of the ocean will have a larger volume of gas than one near the bottom because the pressure at the bottom is greater. Otherwise you also need a separate measurement for the pressure inside the tube to compute the moles of gas.
790…FML
Did you guys take this SAT after AP Chem or Chem Honors? Congrats on the great scores!
800!! @sridharg I took this after studying for the AP Chem exam
@sridharg I took the test after AP and spent exactly a week of reading and using all the tests in Barrons and Princeton
Does anyone have any idea what the curve was for getting an 800? About how many could you skip/get wrong?
@ineedmoresleep I forgot to flip to the last page, so I ended up missing three problems. Also, I know that I got one of the T/F questions wrong, yet I still got an 800. Pretty generous curve if you ask me…
I got 690 in Chem, 700 in Eng Lit, and 760 in Math 2.
Any advice, thinking of retaking Chem, any other subjective test to consider ?
Thanks
Got a 760 on Chem and an 800 on Bio E… So happy right now!!!
@150230 wow that’s amazing. This is kind of unrelated, but do you know if the score range college board provides (like 770-800 or 780-800) has anything to do with your actual raw score? Or is it same for everyone?
I actually screamed when I saw I got an 800.
@ineedmoresleep pretty sure it’s unrelated to your raw score. If the range differs that’s probably from test to test. Say in your example if you get 770 and a bracket is 780-800, you would be in the 750-770 range or something like that.
@PeregrineFlute that makes a lot more sense, because I think I did a lot better on Math II, but my score range for an 800 is larger
@sridharg I got an 800 after taking Honors Chem and going through Barron’s once (and doing most of the practice tests)
