I just took the US history SAT subject test today and was wondering when I will get my scores bc I need to know whether or not to sign up for the June testing date. Could anyone help me? Thank you so much!

in about 2 weeks

You will get the scores on May 20th. The deadline to register for the June test is May NINETEENTH. So you have to pay them $45 dollars to take the June test in case you got a low score in May, only to find out that you did fine and actually didn’t need to retake and waste your money.

That’s just plain mean of the College Board, but I don’t expect anything good to come from them anyway.

early deadline to register for june test is May 5…late deadline is May 19. If you need to take subject tests in any other subject I would go ahead and register for june-that’s what I’m doing, and if i don’t do well on us history or lit then I can retake on those days. It IS possible to take a different subject test on the day than the one you registered for.

Thanks! Wow that is very mean!! And frusturating bc I had wanted to take the regular SATs that day, but I guess I’ll be retaking the US SATs instead… Oh well. Thanks for the help!!

Sorry one more question… Is there any way I can keep more spot for the SATs and then register for SAT subject test on the 19th and then just cancel the subject test if this one turns out okay on the 20th?

According to the College Board:
“Once a registration is submitted, it cannot be canceled, and the test fees are not refundable.”
[SAT Subject Tests - Cancellations & Changes](College Board Will No Longer Offer SAT Subject Tests or SAT with Essay – College Board Blog)

This is the specific section on subject tests…once you have registered, you can’t cancel it. I’m sorry =(

Thanks imagodei!! Hmm I might call them. Perhaps there’s something that can done. I will let you guys know if there is
thanks

YAY…okay guys here’s what I figured out (at least this is what the guy from collegeboard said) as long as I’m registered for the SAT or the SAT subject test, I can switch tests at the testing center as long as they have enough supplies…so i will just keep my registration for the SAT and if I don’t get an 800 on my US test then I can just switch that day…just thought I’d let you guys know because that really helped me out :)

Oh and if anyone feels that isn’t correct please letme know…that’s judt what I was told by collegeboard over the phone

Hey, I’m taking the U.S. History in a few weeks and I was wondering how you prepared; did you buy a U.S. History subject test review book or are ap review books sufficient? And are the questions more big-picture questions or do they ask more about specific events or a mix? Thanks.

@ blakebengals…I read 5 steps to a 5, the rea book (not crashcourse, the other one), and amsco - all AP books. I felt overprepared for the AP exam (always a plus). I actually thought the SAT subject test was more difficult. It’s really a mix of things…analyzing quotes, trends, who founded what. There are other threads specifically talking about the questions. No I didn’t buy any SAT subject test books. I figured US history was US history, and found that the tests were very similiar, and I wouldn’t reccommend get a separate SAT book.
