SAT Subject Test January 2009: US History

Did anyone get the question on #23 about slavery in the south it had a pie graph on it, I skiped that one. Also did anyone get the question that had some painting with sploshy-bloches on it. I guess on that and just marked down, Andy Warhol.

@bmsa91 I'm pretty sure the pie graph one was regarding population. I chose something to do with there were more black people in slave states.

The painting one was Jackson Pollock, I think. He was a big abstract expressionist artist in the fifties.

What review books, if any, did you guys use?

no the nixon question was watergate... only one of the choices had anything to do with the watergate scandal, the other choice was nixon's pardon but then again he wasnt impeached so it was simply watergate:D

Did anyone get the question about which president that a problem on inflation. I thought it was Carter , and just guessed at that. The question about the American Revoultion which said which 'helped' out the most. I put french aid. I know it could have Washington's battles and all , but it was just part of it. That was sure TRICK question the college board put in their for their enjoyment .

but im sure you got it right hilligan because the question was pretty straight forward and there was only one watergate choice so no worries.

I've omitted 3 questions. And I guessed on 9 to 11 questions , and that is from studying for 2 weeks on the test, and also I'm enrolled in US History right now. I took the test because I'm real good in history

did anyone get a questions about a map and population growth, I put the answer something to do with sun belt states

@bmsa91: the answer was french aid.... and about the other question, it was "which was president Ford most concerned for?" the answer was inflation. i got that one wrong:(

Lobzz. I though it was it had a president on the answer choice or something. I think I got that one right.

I think I proably got a at least a 755 on this test. Is that 'good' to impress UCLA, UT AUSTIN, U-Oregon

absolutely bmsa91, 750 is very very good.... but wait, im having doubts now... one of the answers WAS watergate right????... The people talking in the white house???

@bmsa91, that question on inflation was def carter. the other presidents didnt make sense
@hilligan, that nixon one was def watergate. it was on last years ap ush... kinda funny haha
@lobzz, im pretty sure. i didnt even look at the other choices haha.... ok now im not 100% sure but 99% sure. b/c betty friedan came up like 1000 times on my practice tests... and she was definitely later than progressive era

@bsma91, YES THAT POPULATION GROWTH ONE. i had problems with it. but totally forgot what i put... what was the question specifically about?? haha sorryyy

@Lobzz I'm pretty sure there were two choices that referred to Watergate, but I might be mistaken. One said something like "The Watergate Scandal" and the other said "The Watergate Cover-up" It's commonly accepted that Nixon wouldn't have gotten the kind of heat he got if he just fessed up to it blah blah blah. You probably already know all this. I dunno, I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks. Haha

The Ford question was inflation? Damn, I think I put tax cuts or something. It was just a guess, but I figured it was a pretty typical conservative thing to me worried about.

@hilligan: I HATED THAT QUESTION (the ford question), i put down inflation and then i was like "uh-oh, im not sure" so i changed it to tax cuts... after the test, i opened my AP book to check and it said, "although ford's primary concern was inflation......." I was reallllly p.issed, but oh well lol

did anyone get the question about US offensive stragegy and said which had domestic dissent(people didn't like it). I guess and put Tet Offensive in 1968. I thought it was because it was part in 'Nam that people started to protest , and well protest.

bmsa91- I put tet offensive too, because the one of the critical aspects of the vietnam war was the lack of public support...

What about the cartoon with the right wing of the white house that we had to choose the corresponding year: 1940,1948,1960, or 1980??? what did you guys put?

It was 1980

i dont remember that question and i definitely dont remember putting tet offensive for anything, uh oh, you people are freaking me out hahaha

and the last question im going to fuss about is: where were the dustbowls???....
