Hey, I thought I would make a thread on this subject test for the upcoming date because I couldn’t find one. Please do not go off topic.
Hey, what are you guys doing to prepare math sat 2?
@spongebobsquare I completed the 7 practice tests in barron’s book and I ordered Dr. Chung but only got like 3/12 tests done in that. They’re both very high quality.
I did the Kaplan tests; anybody know how they compare to real subject test?
Just had my go at the test. It wasn’t that bad at all! I skipped two questions and managed to finish just in time. The endings of these tests are always the most stressful parts.
In terms of topics, I feel as though I could’ve better prepared myself with complex numbers (and the coordinate graphs representing them). I was relieved that the probability questions on the test were very relaxed hahahah, they could’ve made them brutal like the ones on Barrons.
I spent too long double checking some of my answers -_- I ended up not answering 4 questions. I probably missed at most (hopefully) 2 more. Does anyone have any idea what the curve will be like?
I think raw score of 43 is an 800, but I’m not sure.
To answer your question directly @CTMorris1999 , usually raw score of 42-44 is 800 (I assume you know how to calculate that).
Just saw this thread, but I thought it would be alright since the scores come out tomorrow. I used Princeton Review and Kaplan for the majority of my practice. I would have to say they were pretty accurate to the real test.
The night before the test, I bought a Barrons book from Barnes and Nobles (which I returned immediately after the test), but even though it had many more questions, it was super difficult in comparison to the other review books I used, as well as the actual test.
I signed up too late for the testing center in my town, so I had to drive an hour to another testing location, which was the closest one. Funny story, there was actually another kid from my school there who was taking the same test, and my school only has 650 students.
I skipped two questions due to time constraints, and I did some mental math after the test and realized I got 2 more wrong at the bare minimum. If I get less then two wrong beyond that (so 2 blank, 4 wrong), I would still have an 800. I don’t think I made any silly mistakes, and it occurred to me that this test was more straightforward than the normal SAT since the difficulty of the content makes up for it.
Anyways, good luck to all of you! I hope you all scored beyond your goals.
I didn’t answer 4 questions. I don’t know if I missed any beyond that, I said 2 just to be safe and I made an 800. @BiaxialObject48 I hope this applies to you too!!
what is the raw score for 800 - 780 this time, anyone know?
They don’t tell you what your raw score was. At least, I have not been able to find it. Dd got an 800 - whew! She worked hard for it.
I didn’t answer 5 questions and got an 800. i felt good about all my other answers though, so i don’t think i missed more than 1 out of the ones i answered.
I got at least 6 or 7 questions wrong and still got an 800. The curve was very lenient this time around.
hmmm
I’m an African from Nigeria, I will be taking my sat subject test in Nov 4th and New sat test on Dec 2nd 2017. my main questions are
-
is the Sat subject really difficult? back in high school I do skip maths classes but now I will have to take Level 1 maths sat subject test but I don’t know anything when it come to maths.
-
since I’m an African who schooled in Africa, will my Sat subject test be as difficult and the same as USA Sat subject test takers own or will it be easier, after all USA and Africa (Nigeria) do not teach the same or have the same teaching skills.
-
during the exam will help be rendered to the sat takers or will they be left all alone?.
-
is Barron’s literature and level 1 maths review book harder than the main exam
hoping to get a reply back.
In addition to the material mentioned above, I use Dr, Jiang’s with students putting in a lot of preparation. There are also 3 real tests available.
