Hi, CC community. I am preparing for Physics and Math II in December and I wonder if there are others who are also preparing so that we can share ideas, discuss concepts and answer questions. This is a platform for people who want to help or/and seek for help.
Here’s a Physics question:
The reason an observer cannot detect the wave nature of a fast moving truck is
A. The momentum of truck is too large
B. velocity of the wave is too large
C. there are no waves to detect
D. the frequencies is too low
E. wavelengths are too small
@Dawn001
The momentum is too large.
I’m also taking one in December, so what good book do you recommend ?
The answer is E. It says that “The de Broglia wavelength cannot be detected because the objects in question have velocities that are too small for the waves they create to be detectable”. But, I didn’t get it. :-S
I am using Peterson’s Book.
I’m taking bio and math 2 sat. I’ll be here for math only. Does anyone know equations I need to memorize?
@DDOuser I personally have stuck to relearning trig identities, law of sine/cosine, and de moivre’s theorem.
I started doing some practice with the ARCO Math II book, but it seems to me that the questions are much too hard comparatively. I haven’t taken the practice tests from the official SAT II study guide, but I assume that those are the best indicators of how hard the test will be. Does anyone else think the ARCO books are too hard? Or just that they are harder in order to prepare you better for the test
never heard of arco
I took Physics for the first and last time earlier this month and I used Princeton review. It said
λ = h/p= h/mv
Since the value of h (Planck’s Constant) is so small, ordinary macroscopic objects do not display wavelike behavior.
These are SAT II curves (Approximation) for Math II & Physics for those who are interested:

[each -2 after, subtract 10 points. -26=700]
@Mauriciog: Actually, I used ARCO Book for French and It seems quite easy to me. Maybe, I am a little biased bacause French is my second language and I’ve been studying for 9 years. But, I don’t have an idea about ARCO’s Physics Books. Can I find it online? Do you have a downloading link?
@DDOuser: I guess that Math II is not about memorizing.All you need is good reasonning because you will do nothing with equations that you coudn’t apply.
Don’t worry i’m on my school’s math team, I got 770 math sat 1 and 790 math 2 sat ii.
