SAT Subject Test Score Choice?

Hello, I am thinking of apply ED to UPenn, and the website for the college says “Remember to send Penn all of your official ACT and SAT scores. Penn Admissions does not participate in Score Choice”. Does this mean that the college likely requires ALL subject test scores also? Right now, I have one score I want to submit and two I don’t. Thanks.

You can eliminate “likely” from the above sentence. Yes, Penn requires that all scores be sent.

@skieurope good to know, thank you. Even though they require all scores (including subject test scores), do they focus on your best of those? Or do they weigh everything similarly?

@vmiller7723 For Subject Tests, they focus on the best 2.

@skieurope okay thanks a lot. I took BIO and Math I in June, and I got 780 BIo but 710 math 1. I totally underestimated math I and ran out of time but I think I can probably get 800 Math Ii with review and at least 750+ Math I. Would it make more sense to retake Math I, just take Math II, or take both at the next opportunity? I heard Math I isn’t looked that greatly upon by some colleges.

@vmiller7723 If you’re capable of taking math 2, just focus on that.

@skieurope so it wouldn’t look better to retake math I and take Math Ii at the next one, doing well in Math II would be fine?

@vmiller7723 No college wants more than 1 math, so, IMO, it’s a waste of your time to prep for both M1 and M2.

@skieurope Ok that makes it a lot easier for me. I’ll make sure to prep for Math II, and only have to take one more subject test. Thanks a lot sorry for all the questions aha

@vmiller Take both math levels. Do Math I first to assure that your pacing will be okay for Math II, which takes about 6-8 minutes longer to solve if worked at the same pace as Math I. For both tests, try to be at question 33 when the first 30 minutes are up and you should finish right at 60 minutes.

@Hermit9 seems like extra work no? Would it really help to take both I shouldnt just try to ace Math level II?

If you study for Math II, you’ll be prepared for Math I, no extra studying involved. As previously stated, it’ll help you get your mind focused on math and help you properly time yourself.

^Disagree. I think the prior advice from @skieurope makes much more sense.

@CHD2013 made more sense to me as well. Hopefully Penn will just disregard my 710 in Math I if I get 780+ in Math II because it’s a much higher score on a harder test.

I actually think Math I is a harder test. This is coming from someone who got an 800 on Math 2.

@Kyuutoryuu aha the curve is definitely less in your favor! I also underestimated it and went in with no practice or prep and the timing kinda messed me up.
