SAT Subject Test Scores: How will they affect me?

Hey CC'ers,

I currently stand at:

740 Literature
730 Math 2
660 Spanish (Third only for Georgetown)

I plan to take Spanish with Listening and Math 2 in November. All of the above scores were without prep. I think I can do 700+ on Spanish w/ Listening and hopefully 800 on Math 2 with prep.

How do these scores affect my admission chances at schools like Princeton, Davidson, Williams, and other Ivies and LAC's?

For some context, I have a 35 on my ACT and my GPA is 4.0. I'm an IB Diploma candidate.

To summarize my main question:

Since most of my schools require/reccommend two scores, how will a 740 and a 730 contribute to my application?

740 and 730 are fine scores. They’re not spectacular, but I don’t think they’ll hinder your chances at the schools you’re applying to provided that the rest of your application is good

Thanks. I’m looking for a liberal arts school, so I’m not focusing on a specific subject which is why I’m not scoring 800’s on any particular test. I think I could get an 800 on Math 2 if I did a little prep to work on timing.

Any other thoughts?

You only need two subject tests these days, so, unless you are applying as a math, physics, or engineering major, you are fine. If you can hit the 800 for Math 2, great!

You seem to be in fine shape for those schools, just remember the top Ivies are a reach for even top-scorers. Good luck.
