The top colleges post mid ranges for SAT Reasoning and ACT but I have never seen mid range scores for the Subject Test.

1) Does anyone have Subject Test ranges for any top 20 colleges?

2) Please post your Subject Test scores and SAT Reasoning or ACT scores for comparison purposes.

Thanks

Generally acceptable ranges of scores for top 20 colleges are 700+ with a 770-800 being ideal for ivy league/top ten places.

Subject:
Bio- 790
Chem- 800
Math II- 800

SAT- (Soph.) 2240
PSAT- (Junior) 231

It is difficult to find data on average subject tests, but I found some official data for UCLA:

Search for “SAT Subject Test - Best subject”

Apparently, scores above 700s are acceptable and will not lower one’s chances.

I just received my subject test scores today:
Math lvl 2 - 800 (Even though I distinctly remember omitting some)
US History - 800

Reasoning: M - 800, R - 740, W - 700 (Essay: 9)

A perfect SAT II 800 is achieved by about 8-10% of the test takers in several subjects, among them physics and math II. For a top-20 school, you probably want to be in that top 10%. Remember YOU get to choose your subjects – make sure they are subjects you will ace!

My son’s stats:
Physics 800
Math II 800
ACT 36.0
PSAT 240 (did not take the SAT)

^while an 800 is great, perfect scores aren’t really necessary (although you should aim for that if it’s a test like math ii which scales well); i’d say for top schools 750+ is a good score.
