Sat subject test

I'm part of the class of 2012. I understand that I do not have to take the SAT Subject test. However, by doing so, I hope it will make my college application stand out more. I'm planning on taking U.S. History and Math 2. However I was wondering, if I end up doing poorly on subject the test, will colleges see the subject test scores? I'm wondering because I am going to submit my SAT reasoning test to colleges.

Why do you assume you need not take subject tests? If what you are referring to is the UCs which have dropped the subject test requirement then you are correct but they will still be recommending them. Otherwise, colleges that previously required subject tests, like all your ivies, still require them. Thus, if you are planning to apply to high ranked colleges you are likely to need two.

As to seeing scores: (a) when you order scores from College Board, you can exercise score choice and not send scores you do not want to send; CB provides nothing to the colleges to indicate you even took a test that you choose to withhold: (b) despite that your high school may put all your scores on the official high school transcript sent to colleges and thus the college may still learn of the scores: (c) some colleges specifically ask you to list all scores on your application for admission; (d) there are a number of colleges that require you not to exercise score choice when having CB send scores and thus you must send them all – however, those vary in what they actually mean by “all scores”; some actually mean all scores, both SAT and SAT II; others require only all SAT scores but you can choose which SAT II’s to send.
