Berkeley, as far as i know, requires two SAT subject test. I want to take math I and chemistry but the thing is i am in no way prepared for Math IIc....should i just say **** it and take math I (will they even look at it...or try review my application) or should i just take math II and say w/e happens happens

they explicityly say that math i is not allowed, i'm sure you'll do fine on math iIC (its a generous curve)

so should i just take like lit instead of math altogether or is math required?

Math is not required. However, if you do take a math subject test, you must take Math II for it to be counted as one of the two required subject tests. If you submit math I and chemistry, then your application will be considered incomplete (you'd only have one subject test). As such, you should choose either math II or another subject test that you feel comfortable taking, such as lit.

Lit is hard though, a lot of 18th/19th century poetry. at least it was for me, and I got really high scores on English sections of the SAT/ACT. Just warning you, but maybe you're good at that...

actualy i didn't mean lit...i meant English language...but i think i'm just gonna have to study hard for math IIc...and hope for the best

I don't think there is an English language one (the writing section was incorporated into the SAT).

The curve on the math II subject test is really good, so you just might do well if you study enough.

There is a lit one. The curve on Physics is even nicer so take that :P.

There is a lit, but no English language.

Math II has an easy curve, and physics has an even easier curve. Even if you miss as many as 4 questions on math II or 8 questions on physics it's still a perfect 800, which is ridiculous.
Personally I think math II is much easier than physics. When I took them I finished math II in 30 minutes but I nearly ran out of time in physics. Maybe you should try some sample exams and see on which ones you score highest.
