I just received my sat literature subject test this morning and was very disappointed to see my score. I received a 640- a score 20 points lower than when I took it in June. I was expecting to score around the 700s because I hardly studied in June (I was focusing on us history) I was hoping that higher subject test scores could help compensate for my less than stellar ACT( 30 C, 35 English, 28 Math). I made an 800 on us history so I think this will help, but would it be entirely pointless for me to apply to the few Ivy League schools I had planned on?
No. still apply.
You can still apply. and, for many of the Ivy schools, you can hide this lower score.
Your ACT is going to a bigger obstacle for selective colleges than your SAT subject tests.
If you want to take a flyer and apply to a couple of Ivy and Ivy equivalent schools that is fine. But focus most of your attention on schools that will be more of an academic match. As noted above your ACT is low for the hyper-competitive colleges.
